Social Media & Marketing Internship

Dates: June – September (Flexible)

Description: SBN is searching for an organized and motivated intern to assist with social media & copywriting for the Boston Local Food Festival in September 2017 and with other events and tasks as needed.

The ideal intern will be dedicated to local, sustainable food and business practices and will be able to commit 15-20 hours per week to the program. Interns are encouraged to be proactive – there are many opportunities to contribute and SBN will support you in leveraging your skills to create impact.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

– Generating carefully planned Social Media schedules spanning multiple platforms to maximize our messaging and outreach

– Crafting effective copy for the Boston Local Food Program among other SBN initiatives

– Working with the Director of Marketing to ensure her vision is thoughtfully carried out

– Promoting events through online meet-up groups, calendar listings, and more

– Occasional weekend and night availability for special events

– Assist with other SBN projects and events as needed

– Preference given to an intern that can stay through the Festival in September

This internship has the potential to include work on other annual events such as our Local Craft Spirits Festival, Winter Gala, and Local Food Trade Shows. Internships are eligible for course credit.

Internships are unpaid, though there is the possibility of a stipend dependent on intern experience level and organizational funding capacity.

Membership Management & Development Internship

Dates: June – September (Flexible)

Description: SBN is searching for an organized and motivated intern to assist with developing the SBN membership program and with other events and tasks as needed.

The ideal intern will be dedicated to local, sustainable food and business practices and will be able to commit 15-20 hours per week to the program. Interns are encouraged to be proactive – there are many opportunities to contribute and SBN will support you in leveraging your skills to create impact.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

– Aiding in our Membership Drive by

  1. Working directly with the Membership Coordinator to craft a plan to enhance membership value proposition and grow total membership
  2. Identifying, contacting, and onboarding prospective members

– Utilizing Salesforce to build member profiles and ensure good member relationships

– Aiding in member management tasks including highlights, blogs, & invoices

– Will be responsible for our monthly member newsblast highlighting engaging, educational, and relevant news in local sustainable business & food

– Creating and analyzing surveys and creating reports

– Attend and contribute to planning meetings

– Aid in logistics coordination and event planning

– Occasional weekend and night availability for special events

– Assist with other SBN projects and events as needed
