Massachusetts Eat Local Month is focused on promoting restaurants that commit to sourcing locally. The month will feature live events, delicious special menu items, educational opportunities about eating local and more, all while raising awareness about the importance of choosing local restaurants and products.Is your restaurant or food business interested in participating? Participating restaurants commit to:
1) Highlighting at least three dishes that use as many local ingredients as feasible.
2) Uploading specials on restaurant website, highlighting local farms and purveyors
3) Complete online survey upon conclusion of Eat Local Month.
Sourcing Locally and the Local Food Movement: A Roundtable Discussion

Join SBN and several local food luminaries for a roundtable discussion on the challenges of sourcing locally! Attendees can expect to find (and share) creative ideas of using seasonal and local ingredients, network with industry professionals, food suppliers, and other players in the local food movement, and discuss stories of success with supporting the local food movement!

Red’s Best Tour

A leader in the sustainable seafood industry, Red’s Best is a Boston-based seafood wholesaler that buys directly from New England fishing boats. SBN and one of Red’s Best’s staff members will be leading a tour at the Red’s Best facility. Tour-goers will learn about Red’s Best’s initiatives to support fishermen, ways to support the local seafood industry, and different types of New England seafood!
